Bahia Specialty Cellulose operates one of the most modern dissolving wood pulp mills in the world.

With a design production capacity of 485,000 metric tons per year, it supplies more than 10% of the world's dissolving wood pulp. The mill employs highly advanced production techniques and technology. Products are manufactured to a high degree of purity, with an alpha-cellulose content of up to 98%.

The manufacturing process for making dissolving wood pulp begins with the preparation of the wood, which is first chipped and then cooked to separate the cellulose fibers from other components. The fibers then undergo a process of washing and bleaching before being dried and packed into bales or rolls.
